Go back Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Trust Doctor – ST4+ (Rotation Gap) The closing date is 15 June 2025 Exciting Opportunity – ST4-6 Level Psychiatry Rotational Post We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic doctor at ST4 -6 level (or equivalent) to join our dynamic and supportive Mental Health teams for a 6-month rotational placement. This role is ideal for candidates with prior psychiatry experience who are eager to expand their clinical skills across diverse subspecialties. You will participate in a comprehensive rotation with involvement in on-call rotas aligned to your division. Rotations include: General Adult Psychiatry – Southampton General Adult Psychiatry (CMHT) — Southampton Old Age Psychiatry (CMHT) – Southampton Older People\’s Mental Health (OPMH) – Portsmouth & South East General Adult Psychiatry – Mid & North Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services – CAMHS This post offers a unique opportunity to gain broad clinical experience across acute inpatient, community, and specialised psychiatry settings. You will be well-supported by senior clinicians and encouraged to engage in teaching, supervision, and continuing professional development (CPD) activities. Start Date: August 2025 Duration: 6 months Locations: Antelope House Bramblys Grange CAMHS Royal Hampshire County Hospital Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital (Liaison) Fort Southwick Moorgreen Hospital For these posts we are unable to support with sponsorship to work in UK. Main duties of the job Provide Resident doctor level day to day care for acute, community, and specialised psychiatry, together with the consultants. Participate in the on-call rota. Participation in MDT meetings. Provision of clinical support to oncology clinical nurse specialists. Achieve basic competencies in Radiotherapy treatment planning and delivery, and demonstrate progress. Teaching experience through the junior doctor induction and education programme, journal club, and opportunities to teach on MRCP programmes within the Trust. Audit and Clinical Governance. Undergo regular appraisal throughout the post. Attend Trust educational and departmental meetings. Demonstrate awareness of national and local guidelines relating to specialty (e.g. NICE guidelines) and influence care developments in accordance with these. Identify, contribute to or lead on aspects in the development and dissemination of evidence-based guidelines, standards and protocols as required and implement change to improve the quality of patient care.
