Qualifications

Plumbing courses are available as study programmes, part-time courses, or apprenticeships. Good GCSEs are recommended for measurements and calculations.

At Leeds College of Building, entry is via a basic skills test or, for part-time courses, a relevant qualification.

Salary

Newly trained plumbers can earn approximately £19,000 – £25,000.

Experienced plumbers can earn approximately £25,000 – £30,000.

Senior/master crafts plumbers can earn approximately £30,000 – £60,000.

Self-employed plumbers set their own rates.
