Applus is seeking an experienced NDT Technician (Level 2 – EN4179 Certified) to join its state-of-the-art Aerospace & Engineering Test House in Poole. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified technician to perform high-precision non-destructive testing (NDT) on aerospace and industrial components within a fast-paced, quality-driven environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, integrity, and compliance of critical parts through a range of advanced inspection techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform Level 2 inspections in accordance with EN4179 (or PCN Aero Level 2) using:
- Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
- Radiographic Testing
- Fluorescent Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI)
- Dye Penetrant Inspection (DPI)
- Booking work and coordinating test schedules
- Issuing inspection certificates and documentation
- Preparing delivery notes for clients and logistics
Qualifications & Experience
- Required
- EN4179 Level 2 certification in Ultrasonic Testing (UT) (PCN Aero Level 2 also acceptable)
- Experience operating MPI benches and penetrant lines
- Background in a test house or technical/engineering environment
- Familiarity with multiple NDT disciplines
- Valid forklift license and passport
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical capability
- Strong problem-solving mindset
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Collaborative team player with a proactive, safety-conscious attitude
- Reliable, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently
