Aspire Education Agency is proud to be recruiting five Teaching Assistants for a specialist school in Kidderminster. These roles are offered on a temp-to-perm basis, giving you the opportunity to trial the position and transition into a permanent role if it's the right fit. This modern, purpose-built school provides a nurturing and structured environment for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, often associated with Autism Spectrum Conditions. Set on a beautiful, spacious campus with specialist facilities, the school supports pupils in small class sizes (no more than 8 students), ensuring each child receives the individual care and guidance they need to thrive.
About the Role:
You will support students in Years 2 to 4 with both their learning and overall wellbeing. The role involves working closely with the class teacher to deliver a tailored curriculum, encourage independence, and build strong, trusting relationships with the children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support learning activities in class and on a one-to-one basis
- Promote a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
- Assist with emotional regulation and behaviour support
- Provide personal care support if required
- Encourage personal development and independence
- Work closely with the teaching and therapeutic teams
Working Hours: Term time only, 40 hours per week
- Monday: 8:30am - 5:00pm
- Tuesday to Thursday: 8:30am - 4:30pm
- Friday: 8:30am - 4:00pm (With 2.5 hours weekly allocated for training and development)
Requirements:
- GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C / Level 2 or above) - essential
- Working towards or holding a Level 2 qualification in Support Work in Schools - desirable
- Previous experience in an educational or care setting
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Experience supporting children with SEMH or additional needs
- A positive, resilient, and adaptable approach
- Full UK driving licence preferred
