The Family Department is ranked and recommended by The Legal 500 UK and Chambers & Partners UK for family and matrimonial work, providing confidential advice with effective representation. Our family team includes solicitors who have achieved the Law Society's Children Law and Family Law Advanced accreditations providing advocacy in all court proceedings, ensuring our clients receive a consistent and professional service as well as a high degree of continuity.

Main Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Report directly to Department Director
  • Professional pro-active approach, strong client care skills and a sensitive and sympathetic understanding of clients’ needs
  • Assisting with casework including dealing with a range of Family matters (LAA Funded and Private client work) as well as undertaking your own advocacy
  • Attending clients, taking instructions and preparing cases
  • Dealing with correspondence
  • Preparing and managing funding applications to the Legal Aid Agency
  • Preparing draft documents including witness statements and processing evidence
  • Attending conferences and court
  • Maintaining accurate time costing procedures
  • Implementing any recommendations made by your supervisor following monthly file reviews ensuring that these are dealt with promptly
  • Ensuring compliance with file management.

  • Clear understanding and application of Family Laws
