Overview

Title: Accountant

Type: Permanent

Hours: Full Time (part time/flexible working considered)

Salary: £35,000 – £50,000 (depending on experience/qualifications)

Location: Inverness

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of statutory accounts for a range of clients across sectors.
  • Dealing with any discrepancies and liaising with clients to obtain relevant information.
  • Working within strict deadlines for statutory submissions.
  • Prepare and file accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring compliance with current tax laws.
  • Analyse financial information to identify potential tax savings and advise clients on financial planning strategies.
  • Utilise various accounting software, including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and other financial accounting tools, to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge including any changes in accounting and tax legislation and financial regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports as required.
  • Advise clients on best practice to ensure efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Previous statutory accounts and tax preparation experience.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, and Sage is essential.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data effectively and identify variances.
  • Excellent communication skills to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy in all work.
