Job Description
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, a leading UK construction contractor is seeking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team delivering major civil engineering projects.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on heavy civils schemes offering significant technical variety, including earthworks, highways, infrastructure, and rail interface works, across complex and high-profile developments.
The business operates with a turnover approaching £1bn, working across multiple specialist divisions and partnering with some of the UKs largest developers and landowners. The Role
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be part of a project-based commercial team delivering civil engineering works valued between £10m £50m. Key responsibilities include:

Commercial management of subcontractor packages

Cost, value, and change control reporting

Proactive and effective management of variations and compensation events

Attendance at client and stakeholder meetings

Supporting commercial strategy at project level

Providing leadership and commercial support to operational and site teams
Experience Required
Suitable candidates will be able to demonstrate:

A BSc in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (or equivalent)

A proven track record operating as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on civil engineering projects valued at £10m+

Demonstrable experience delivering highways and infrastructure works

Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts (JCT experience also beneficial)

The ability to manage commercial risk and lead packages with a high degree of autonomy
