Senior Quantity Surveyor Highways Drainage

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team on a major highways drainage project in Oxford. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially driven professional to take ownership of cost management, contracts, and financial control on a high-profile civil engineering scheme.
As the business is experiencing significant growth, the successful candidate will be joining at a time of major expansion meaning there are excellent opportunities for long-term career progression and development.
Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the commercial and financial aspects of highways and drainage works.
  • Oversee cost planning, valuations, variations, and final accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC contracts (or equivalent forms).
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure commercial success.
  • Provide accurate cost reporting and forecasting.
  • Lead and mentor junior QS staff

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in highways, civil engineering, or drainage projects.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC contracts.
  • Excellent cost management, negotiation, and reporting skills.
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field (RICS membership desirable).
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
