We have an exciting opportunity to join our Trust as an Executive Director of People and Organisational Development. We are seeking an experienced People leader with a strong track record of workforce strategy, cultural transformation, and organisational development in a complex, highly regulated environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working at, or close to, Board level, ideally within the NHS or another regulated industry, with a passion for advancing Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) and modernising the people agenda to support a large, dispersed workforce. The role requires a strategic thinker and compassionate leader who can influence at Board level while holding colleagues accountable for performance in a pressurised environment. Strong stakeholder engagement skills will be essential in working collaboratively across healthcare systems and with national NHS bodies. All executive directors must champion the standards of public life by upholding the highest standards of conduct and displaying the principles of selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty, and leadership. As a future NHS leader, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the range of behaviours, that align to our Behavioural Standards Being Humber enabling an effective contribution in this board level role. You will be pivotal in supporting us to address the unique internal staffing challenges facing the Trust at the moment, but will recognise this also provides us with an opportunity to make a real difference in how we attract, retain and develop a modern workforce to provide the best possible care to patients. The Executive Director of People and Organisational Development (OD) will lead the implementation of key people strategies taking forward the Trusts strategic direction based on best People practice. They will act as the principal advisor to the Chair, Chief Executive, Board of Directors, and the wider organisation, on all aspects of people services taking the Director lead on the overall equality and diversity agenda. Qualifications Essential Educated to Masters level or in Human Resources or another related field or relevant extensive experience. Desirable Relevant postgraduate management / leadership qualification. Knowledge and Experience Essential Substantial senior / Director level experience in health, care or related sectors. Experience of leading complex and contentious change and workforce transformation at significant scale. Experience and success in developing and implementing plans to address discrimination and inequalities. Desirable Experience of working in a number of different parts of the health and care system. Skills, Competencies and Personal Qualities Essential Exceptional communication skills which engender confidence, strong collaborations, and partnership working. Sophisticated leadership and influencing skills; building compassionate cultures where individuals and teams thrive at organisation, partnership, and system levels.
