Job Title: Design and Technology Technician Location: Borough of Bromley, Greater London Contract Type: Full-Time / Term-Time Only Salary: Competitive – based on experience and qualifications Start Date: September 2025 About the Role We are seeking a skilled, enthusiastic, and well-organised Design and Technology Technician to support the delivery of outstanding teaching and learning within the D&T department at our secondary school located in the heart of the Borough of Bromley. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting staff and students in practical lessons across a range of disciplines, including Resistant Materials, Graphics, Textiles, and Product Design. Key Responsibilities * Prepare, maintain, and organise equipment and materials for D&T lessons. * Assist teaching staff in the classroom during practical sessions. * Ensure health and safety protocols are rigorously maintained. * Carry out routine maintenance of tools, machinery, and IT/CAD-CAM equipment. * Manage stock control and order necessary supplies. * Support students with the use of tools, machinery, and digital fabrication equipment (e.g., 3D printers, laser cutters). Person Specification * Experience in a similar role or background in a workshop/technical environment is desirable. * Good understanding of health and safety in a school/workshop setting. * Strong practical and organisational skills. * Confidence using D&T tools and machinery (training will be provided if needed). * A positive, proactive, and flexible approach. * Relevant qualifications in Design & Technology, Engineering, or related fields are advantageous
