A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Bath is currently seeking a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including SEMH, learning difficulties, and behavioural challenges. The school is committed to providing high-quality, tailored support while ensuring pupils remain fully included in mainstream education.
In this role, you will work with class teachers and the SENCO to support pupils both in and out of the classroom. This may include providing 1:1 support or working with small groups, helping pupils access the curriculum, develop emotional regulation strategies, and build confidence and independence.
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support or work with small groups to support pupils with additional needs.
- Help pupils access the curriculum and participate in class activities.
- Support development of emotional regulation strategies and build confidence and independence.
- Collaborate with class teachers and the SENCO to plan and deliver targeted support.
- Assist in and out of the classroom to promote inclusive education.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience supporting children with SEMH or behavioural needs.
- A genuine passion for supporting pupils in a mainstream setting.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly and professionally.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced school environment.
