Expert are working in partnership with this Eglinton based Client who have been established for over 40 years. Prominent within the Engineering industry, they offer a range of engineering services providing end to end solutions in Design, Fabrication and Installation. They serve a wide range of industries including Biopharma, Data Centres, Food and Beverage, Power Generation and Pharmaceutical, and have completed projects throughout Europe.
The role: They are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs, ensuring that financial aspects of Engineering projects are accurately monitored and controlled. This position requires a strong understanding of cost control methodologies, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders throughout the project duration.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for Engineering projects, including materials, labour, and overheads.
- Monitor project budgets and expenditures, ensuring adherence to financial constraints.
- Conduct regular cost analysis and reporting to identify variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure accurate pricing and timely procurement of materials.
- Assist in the preparation of tender documents and evaluate bids from contractors.
- Manage contract negotiations and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Provide support during project execution by assessing changes in scope and their impact on costs.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions related to projects.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of cost control principles and practices within the Engineering or construction industry.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in using quantity surveying software and tools for cost estimation and analysis.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling collaboration with diverse teams.
