Permanent Hire Desk Controller needed for a client in Bedford, MK44 postcode. Must be a car driver.

We are looking for applicants who are well presented with excellent customer service skills and a professional manner. If you are comfortable in customer service and sales situations, can co-ordinate and work alongside the Sales Manager, then you are the person we are looking for.

  • The position is permanent office based and due to location own transport is a must.
  • Construction background? Not essential. They will give you all the training you need!
  • Hiring experience would be ideal!

The Role:

You will be taking orders over the phone, by email and face to face with clients in the showroom. You will be organised and proactive, happy juggling and getting things done. The role is varied and will include managing hire orders, keeping on top of stock levels, ensuring deliveries go out on time to the right locations with the right stock plus being approachable and enthusiastic. You will also be expected to maximise all revenue opportunities and to administer paperwork and always provide outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Deal with telephone, email and face to face enquiries; orders from customers and provide accurate information as required.
  • Ensure accuracy of all paperwork and that procedures for hire and sales contracts, purchase orders, stock transfers, asset administration, are adhered to.
  • Liaise with the warehouse to ensure equipment required for hire is available.
  • Co-ordinate Drivers to ensure equipment is delivered and collected from customers on time and efficiently.
  • Ensure all deadlines are met in relation to reporting of information.
  • Work within the Health & Safety policy of the company to ensure safe working practises.
  • Maximise consumable sales opportunities at every opportunity.
