The company formed over 8 years ago by two partners from a large, multi-national construction design consultancy, our client offers a multi-disciplinary design service to Developers and Contractors across the South West. With a friendly company culture and stunning offices, they provide services from feasibility through to construction project support, working on a range of projects from Residential Developments to Commercial and Retail parks and Local Authority infrastructure.
The right candidate:
- We are looking for an experienced Structural Engineer with project experience across either residential or commercial developments.
- Key skills and experience include:
- BEng recognised by the Engineering Council with post-graduate experience in a field of structural engineering gained in the UK.
- Graduate Member of either the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) or Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and be working towards professional chartership status desirable.
- Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English, including technical report writing skills.
- Experience in the design of structures in concrete and steel. Experience in design of structures in masonry and timber preferable but not essential.
- Experience with use of 2D and 3D structural design packages such as TEKLA Structural Designer, TEDDS, Masterseries etc.
- Experience working with Building Information Modelling (BIM) and within a 3D environment generally.
- Experience using AutoCAD and Revit beneficial, but not essential.
- Familiarity with key forms of building construction.
- Be a collaborative, confident and ambitious team player and be able to use own initiative.
- Hold a current UK driving licence.
