Shopify Technical Architect required by an award-winning eCommerce Agency to join their rapidly growing Shopify practice. My client is looking for a Shopify Technical Architect to lead the design and implementation of scalable, robust eCommerce solutions on the Shopify Plus platform. If you have a passion for innovative Shopify architecture, integrations, and leading technical teams, I would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical design of complex Shopify Plus solutions, translating client requirements into detailed specifications
- Serve as the Shopify platform SME, including APIs, Liquid, theme architecture, and app ecosystem
- Oversee integrations with ERP, PIM, CRM, OMS, WMS, payment gateways, and marketing tools
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams
- Stay current with platform updates and industry trends to drive innovation
- Engage with clients and stakeholders, presenting solutions and leading technical workshops
- Maintain and evolve scalable, maintainable technical architectures
- Create comprehensive technical documentation
- Support pre-sales activities with technical expertise
- Mentor team members and promote knowledge sharing
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Technical Architect, Lead Developer, or Senior Engineer with Shopify Plus
- Deep hands-on knowledge of Shopify architecture, APIs, Liquid, and app integrations
- Experience architecting large-scale eCommerce solutions
- Strong understanding of web technologies: HTML5, CSS3/SASS, JavaScript (ES6+), JSON, REST, GraphQL
- Familiarity with modern JS frameworks (React, Vue.js) and build tools
- Experience with enterprise SDLC, Agile methodologies, and CI/CD practices
- Knowledge of Cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure) and SaaS architecture
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Results-driven, proactive, and a strong team player
Preferred:
- Shopify Headless commerce experience (Hydrogen, Next.js, Nuxt.js)
- Custom Shopify App development
- Shopify Flow, Scripts, and Functions expertise
- Relevant Shopify certifications or contributions to the community
- Experience with Ruby, Node.js, PHP
- Data migration strategies for eCommerce platforms
