We are currently partnered with an elite long short equity hedge fund who are looking to add an experienced Macro strategist to their high performing macro research team to support the traders and PMs in coming up with actionable investment ideas. They are looking for someone who has a global outlook with a keen interest in Asia, ideally from a similar hedge fund or global macro fund.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain in-depth macroeconomic views with a particular focus on China and Japan
- Conduct salient and accurate macro economic research to translate into actionable investment ideas for the long short PMs in the fund
- Present thematic research, risk scenarios, and policy outlooks to internal investment teams
- Uphold some quantitative responsibilities, including econometric modelling and quantitative analysis
Candidate Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in macroeconomic strategy or research, ideally on the buy side
- Demonstrated expertise in Asian economies, whilst maintaining a global outlook
- Proven track record of translating macroeconomic insights into actionable investment ideas
- MSc or PhD in Economics or relevant discipline
- Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., Bloomberg, Excel, Python, or R) to build or interpret macro models and dashboards
