Role Purpose
The Compliance Manager (Fire Lead) will be the nominated Responsible Person for fire and will oversee the provision, management and quality assurance of an end-to-end Fire Risk Management service. They will be responsible for shaping and overseeing delivery of Fire property compliance and asset management strategies to ensure properties are safe, well-maintained and in line with all relevant legislative standards, including but not limited to the Regulatory Reform (Fire) Order 2005, the requirements of the Building Safety Act 2022, the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022, and Fire Policy.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with all stakeholders and facilities management teams to ensure effective service delivery.
- Maintain accurate records and produce reports for senior management.
- Chair and facilitate fire related meetings with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that all relevant issues are raised, recorded and addressed.
- Provide effective leadership in all aspects of Fire compliance management, related to risk and asset management.
- Build strong internal and external working relationships to provide opportunities for knowledge transfer, training and guidance on Fire Safety and compliance best practices.
- Lead and manage fire safety compliance programs across all company sites.
- Conduct a review and maintain a detailed action log for fire risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards.
- Develop, review, and implement fire safety policies and procedures.
- Liaise with fire authorities, insurers, and external auditors.
- Provide expert advice and training to staff on fire safety practices and emergency procedures.
- Investigate fire-related incidents and recommend corrective actions.
- Keep up-to-date with changes in fire safety laws and best practices.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Regulatory Reform (Fire) Order 2005, the requirements of the Building Safety Act 2022, the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 and all other relevant Fire safety regulations.
- Proven experience in fire safety management or compliance roles across multiple sites, ideally within a local authority or educational setting (Minimum 3 years).
- Strong knowledge of fire safety legislation and risk management principles.
- Relevant qualifications in Fire management and compliance such as NEBOSH Fire Safety, IFE certifications, or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to analyse complex data and produce clear reports.
- Proactive approach with strong problem-solving abilities.
