The Equipment Operator will be responsible for safely operating 4×4 and tracked vehicles, 360 Excavators, and other company equipment as necessary across various terrains on client sites in accordance with Company and Client/site requirements.
Specific duties and responsibilities:
- Operation of ATVs/UTVs and 360 Excavators: Safely operate 4×4 and tracked vehicles across various terrains.
- Transport ATVs/UTVs and other equipment to work sites using a pickup truck and trailer.
- Preparing machinery and tools for use and operating them in accordance with manufacturer and company requirements.
- Conduct periodic maintenance checks on onsite equipment and vehicles, including:
- Checking fluid levels (oil, brake fluid, coolant)
- Inspecting tires for pressure and wear
- Cleaning and greasing moving parts
- Washing the vehicle to prevent rust and maintain functionality
- Before each use, perform safety checks including brakes, lights, and emergency stop switches.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
- Valid ATV/UTV operator certification (e.g. Lantra, NPORS, FMOC).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating ATVs/UTVs in a professional environment.
- Full, clean, and valid UK driving licence.
- Experience with towing trailers and manoeuvring in tight spaces.
- Knowledge of basic mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Additional certifications (e.g., first aid, chainsaw operation).
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems.
