The Company
I am currently recruiting for a company who are a systems integrator on a global scale across the world, they operate in numerous countries with plenty of tier one clients and are currently consistently growing across the UK over the past numerous years. On this new site in Castle Donington, since the site opened nearly 5 years ago there has been £75 million invested to keep up with the demand of the site. Over the last couple of years, there was a large expansion installing some new shuttle systems. With the latest automation and technology, the site processes over 120,000 orders a day – the site's aim is to get the unit out of the warehouse 30, showing how state-of-the-art and slick the process is.
In a shift team, there is a Maintenance Team Leader, Deputy Team Leader, a few engineers and a couple of Automation Assistants. Having an Automation Assistant on shift will allow you as an Engineer to look into the Continuous Improvement of the site as this is a big thing for the longevity of the site.
As a Deputy Maintenance Team Leader, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Working alongside your Maintenance Team Leader making sure that you are both happy with the 4 engineers on shift and reporting any problems either way
- Stepping up into a Team Leader role in their absence
- Promote a strong safety culture and adhere to Health & Safety and statutory procedures
- Prepare and chair Daily Review Meetings with Key Stakeholders
- Undertake analysis of CMMS data to assist forward planning for CI opportunities
- Working on highly automated state-of-the-art equipment – including Automated shuttle systems, some of the latest robotics, various Conveyor Systems just to name a few!

We are looking for a Deputy Maintenance Team Leader that:
- Can work as a multi-skilled engineer – working safely electrically and mechanically
- Be confident communicating and working as part of a team
- An Engineer that holds a recognised qualification
- Perform independently when required and under pressure in certain scenarios
As a Deputy Maintenance Team Leader, you will receive:
