About the team: The GCID Hyperscaler Engineering (HSE) Network team sits at the forefront of SAP's global public cloud transition. As a HSE Network Engineer, you will be at the heart of the operations for services that empower SAP to develop and deliver high-quality products. Working with our lines of business, you will help build and run our next-generation Hyperscaler Engineering technologies at global scale. What you'll do: Hyperscaler Engineering Network Engineers work closely with other engineers to ensure network solutions are always-on, with service operational responsibility in a 24x7 follow-the-sun mode. Your focus will be on firewall operations building and maintaining Checkpoint, Palo Alto and hyperscaler native (AWS, Azure, GCP) firewalls.

What you bring:

  • BSc degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 Years Enterprise Cloud Engineering and Operations at scale.
  • 2 Years Cloud Networking with Firewalls.
  • 2 Years with Continuous Integration and associated technologies.
  • 2 Years with at least three of GCP/AWS/Azure experience.
  • 2 Years experience in cloud operations under follow-the-sun 24x7 model.
  • Experience in deployment and configuration of VPCs, VPNs and firewalls to public clouds.
  • General knowledge of Routing, Firewalls, Load Balancing and Private Connectivity technologies.
  • Understanding of public cloud services and global infrastructure, load balancing, networking, security and operations.
  • Scripting skills in Python, Perl, Bash, Shell or another common language.
  • Team-first outlook with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of AWS, GCP and Azure.

Preferred skills:

  • Networking knowledge with Checkpoint/PA/Cisco/hyperscaler native networks, firewalls and routing.
  • Experience and understanding of SAP Enterprise business practices.
  • Cloud Management, Cloud Analytics Experience, CI/CD stacks.
  • Combination Experience with Git, Jenkins, Confluence, JIRA, ServiceNow, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Splunk.
