I'm working with a leading University in the South of England who are looking for a Senior IT Systems Administrator (Windows). The role is focused on managing and developing core IT services, with a strong emphasis on Windows Server Environments, Active Directory, Office 365, and backup/disaster recovery solutions. The position also plays a key part in technical leadership and service improvement across the IT infrastructure team.
MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE:
- Microsoft 365 (Office 365) - admin, support, and development
- Exchange / Exchange Online - must have proven experience of migrating Exchange on-premise to Exchange online
- Backup systems and disaster recovery processes
- Experience working in or with the higher education sector
ESSENTIALS:
- Strong communication & problem-solving skills
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
- Collaborative team player with a customer-focused mindset
- Degree in IT (or equivalent experience) or MCSE certification
- Hands-on with at least 3: Exchange, ADFS, Azure AD, Citrix, Office 365, patching, email security
- Familiarity with ITIL or structured service environments
Location: South of England - Hybrid 2 days onsite
