Our award-winning client is experiencing significant growth in the sector, with major projects already underway and more in the pipeline. They now require a Commercial Manager / experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the management team on a full-time and permanent basis.
Working closely with the Commercial Director and SLT, this is a key role, requiring a minimum of 5+ years' experience in a similar role. Key responsibilities include:
- The commercial management of large key projects
- Responsible for securing the financial delivery of these projects by controlling costs
- Day-to-day management of the Project(s) Commercial Team
- Identify potential commercial risks and report to senior management
- Track monthly job performance and provide updates via accurate reporting and feedback to the Commercial Director
- Identify, analyse, and report on trends within the Project Budget at Design, Procurement, and Delivery stages
- Forecasting the impact of revenue and costs on Project cashflow
- Oversee the management of subcontractor accounts from initial award to interim valuation, variations, and final account
- Lead the Project procurement in conjunction with Procurement Department/site teams
- Ensure compliance with contract obligations and provide advice to the construction team
- Oversee change control and ensure compliance with contractual requirements
- Liaise and advise operational teams on commercial and contractual issues
- Oversee commercial and contractual processes and adjust/develop as required
- Manage client relationships to ensure collaboration
- Report and advise upon disputed items
- Any other duties associated with the above role
Requirements:
- Third level qualification in a Surveying or Cost Engineering discipline or equivalent level of experience
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role
- Commercially astute and ambitious
- High standard of organisational and time management skills
- High level of IT literacy
- Good communication skills
- Management experience
- Experience with standard forms of contract, notably NEC
