Abbeyfield Living Society is seeking a dedicated Cook & Resident Support who embodies our commitment to providing exceptional care and community for our residents. If you have the skills we are looking for, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Confidently cook for up to 12 residents, ensuring nutritious and delicious meals are served.
  • Be available for optional overtime when needed for cover.
  • Maintain organization and readiness to address various challenges as they arise.
  • Understand and prioritize excellent customer service, particularly concerning the needs of older people.
  • Possess basic computer skills (experience with Outlook and Excel is beneficial); training will be provided for additional systems.

About the Role:

At Abbeyfield Living Society, we strive to create a community where residents feel empowered, safe, and respected. Our team provides a friendly face and ensures a warm, clean environment where residents can enjoy a tasty home-cooked meal, fostering comfort and peace of mind in their later years.

In this role, you will be the first point of contact for residents to report any issues, ensuring their wellbeing and safety. You will investigate and escalate concerns as necessary. Budget management and basic computer skills will be advantageous, but full support and training will be provided by our friendly and supportive staff.

Please Note: This role requires eligibility to work in the UK, two satisfactory employment references, and a Standard DBS check, the cost of which will be covered by Abbeyfield Living Society. You may be asked to provide details regarding any convictions; failure to disclose this information may result in the revocation of an employment offer.
