Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Synergy Systems Specialist to support the configuration, optimisation, and user upskilling of the Access Synergy (formerly Servelec) education management platform within a Local Authority setting. The successful candidate will take ownership of refining system functionality across key modules (e.g. Admissions, SEN, Early Years) and lead the internal training effort to embed best practice across operational teams. Please note: Experience with Access Synergy in a Local Authority context is essential for this role. Unfortunately, candidates without this specific experience cannot be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure and optimise Synergy modules to meet operational and statutory requirements
- Work with service leads to gather requirements, test changes, and deploy updates
- Provide tailored training and upskilling to internal users (1:1s, group sessions, documentation)
- Develop or update system user guides, quick reference materials, and process documentation
- Collaborate with ICT and service areas to improve data quality, workflows, and reporting
- Support integration activity (currently via Access Orchestra, with future migration to Wonde expected)
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Strong hands-on experience configuring Access Synergy in a Local Authority context
- In-depth knowledge of key modules - School Admissions, SEN, Early Years, Children's Services
- Proven ability to deliver engaging training to non-technical staff
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Able to translate business needs into effective system configuration
- Good understanding of Local Government education and children's services processes
Desirable:
- Experience with Access Orchestra (SysTalk) and/or Wonde for system integrations
- Familiarity with Mosaic or other social care systems
- SQL/reporting experience
Additional Info:
- Role is inside IR35, paid via umbrella
- Expected onsite presence is approximately once every two weeks, aligned with team availability
