About the Role
- Implement the annual fundraising strategy to grow charity income and meet personal fundraising target towards the department’s overall target
- Manage personal portfolio of existing trusts and foundations to achieve annual target
- Facilitate the movement of donors through the Patronage Scheme
- Write proposals and reports articulately, to include emotive case studies, storytelling, budgets, quotes and photographs that portray our charity’s needs
- Continued stewardship with trustees of foundations and grant makers, to include personal meetings, phone calls, reports and donor recognition events
- Research new potential supporters, including background profile, compliance, and personal connections with Trustees
- Secure funding from new Trusts & Foundations to meet target
- Cultivate donor relationships and proactively engage with lapsed Trusts & Foundations
- Identify trends to ensure all donors are managed by an appropriate revenue stream
- Support Head of Fundraising & Marketing with fundraising admin, canvassing reports and setting up meetings with donors and Trustees
- Maintain current and historical donor records
- Record all actions and correspondence
- Produce personalised acknowledgment emails, letters and invoices
- Ensure receipts are dispatched on time and donor recognition is in place
- Monitor donors’ payments and ensure monies are correctly allocated on database
- Produce monthly fundraising reports
- Support with donation processing on Raiser’s Edge donor database during busy periods
- Use database effectively to track research, asks, follow-up and status
Teamwork
- To work alongside the F&M team members effectively when collating information and photographs
- To support F&M team members at events throughout the year
- To work with Heads of Departments to obtain case studies, budgets and data for proposals and reports
What We’re Looking For
- 3-years of professional experience in the sector
- Demonstrated success in raising substantial funds through effective campaigns and securing five-figure donations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Raisers Edge database or relevant fundraising CRMs
- Highly motivated, proactive person, capable of managing multiple workloads
- Creative thinker aligned with Nightingale Hammerson’s innovative approach to high-quality care
- Effective prioritisation and organisational abilities
- Proficient in numerical skills and financial data management, using Excel
- Confidence and credibility in representing Nightingale Hammerson as an ambassador
- Knowledge of fundraising legislation, including GDPR
- Flexibility to work variable hours as needed
Experience:
- Collaboration with donors, stakeholders and external organisations
- Strategic development and change management, in collaboration with colleagues and Trustees
- Familiarity with the UK grant-making and fundraising landscape
- Development and maintenance of relationships with donors
- Successful writing of fundraising applications and monitoring reports
