As part of the next stage of our development, we are building up our Sales team in the UK and currently have an opportunity for a Proposal Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and technical professional who is looking to grow their career in a commercially focused, technical role.
Responsibilities
- Creation and delivery of compliant, professionally produced proposals within customer defined time frames.
- Responsible for ensuring proposal documents follow standard formatting and quality standards.
- Preparing and reviewing the commercial aspects of the bid, ensuring all services are included in the final price to the customer.
- Providing hands-on technical support to the Sales team.
- Work closely with production to ensure proposals are meeting the estimated costs regarding manufacturing timescales and installation plans.
- Producing PowerPoint presentations to accompany proposal documents.
- Supporting the sales team on site visits as part of the proposal submission process.
- Following the defined process regarding producing costings and generating proposals information.
- Promoting best practice for layout and content of all proposal submissions.
What we're looking for
- Confident using Office 365 tools, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Customer focused, with a passion for building strong relationships with internal & external customers.
- Previous experience of working as part of an engineering or technical sales team.
- Strong written skills to produce technical specifications and quotations.
- Ability to work under pressure to tight timescales and juggle multiple priorities.
- Solid organisational skills including attention to detail.
- Methodical working approach and comfortable with data/numbers.
- The desire to continually learn and develop.
- Ability to read and produce drawings using either SolidWorks or AutoCAD would be an advantage.
- Willingness and ability to travel to visit customer sites as and when required.
- Valid driving licence essential.
