Specialist role within a busy Group Payroll team. Accuracy of data, whilst ensuring all controls are completed and maintaining documentation, is a key deliverable of the GSC Payroll team.

We process 19 payrolls across different systems. The role is a crucial support to the Payroll Manager and in the wider responsibilities of high-quality payroll processing for the Group, Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of outbound reporting to Group Pensions (TAES files).

Processing documentation. Ensuring all processes are documented, assist with creating a knowledge base document, process maps, RACI documents and training material.

Support with costing issues. Provide support with any technical issues relating to costing processes or queried from accounting teams.

Processing and approval of payments to third parties, outside the payrolls system. This includes HMRC, Group Pensions and sundry recipients.

Processing of Payrolls. Monthly hands-on processing of the payrolls though our systems with the majority being processed through SAP Success Factors.

Process Reviews. Reviewing current processes, roles and access, creating a Payroll SOD detailing all FCF controls.

Maintain a strong control environment. Ensure that all documentation is accurate and up to date, and that internal controls are always adhered to.

Process T&A and Bulk uploads. Ensure all audit requirements are completed and accurate and reconciled correctly.

Liaison with accounting teams to ensure all payment and intercompany transfer queries are resolved in a timely manner.

  • CIPP would be beneficial, but not essential., * Attention to detail is key.

  • Logical, clear thinker.

  • Strong Excel skills required (Intermediate to Advanced User).

  • Good interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.

  • Adaptable to different systems.

  • SAP SuccessFactors would be an advantage, but none of them are essential.

  • Strong attention to detail required, always aiming for 100% accuracy.

  • Able to build good working relationships across multiple areas, including Payroll, Applications Support, HR across the businesses and other GSC teams.

  • Very well organised. Deadlines are tight across our multiple payrolls.

  • Take ownership. Takes ownership of data quality and seeks for ways to improve processes and outputs.

  • Technically sound in all Payroll processes, including current legislation and regulatory requirements as well as PAYE, National Insurance, SSP and SMP.

Willing to get stuck in. This will be a hands-on role, with the incumbent needing to manage the need to ‘get things done’ with taking a step back to manage the payroll technical requirements.
