BMC Recruitment Group are currently recruiting for a Chief Draughtsperson to join a client who are in the engineering sector based in Derby.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Ensure on-time delivery of compliant detail designs with a high level of quality
  • Oversee and approve design definition models and manufacturing drawings
  • Manage subcontract detail design from a technical perspective
  • Ensure drafting work adheres to company processes and standards
  • Maintain and update relevant processes to meet business needs
  • Provide support and advice on task planning drawings to other business members
  • Promote value engineering activities and cost reduction initiatives
  • Support the capability management of drafting resources

About You

  • Degree or HNC in Mechanical Engineering (desirable)
  • Strong background in mechanical engineering principles and processes
  • Proven experience in a responsible mechanical engineering position
  • Detail design checking experience
  • Familiarity with design of fabrication details (desirable)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
