We are working with a well-regarded construction consultancy client who is looking to appoint an experienced Building Surveyor to join their London team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of commercial, heritage, education, and public sector projects, delivering high-quality surveying and advisory services to a wide range of clients.
As a Building Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing projects from inception to completion, offering expert advice on property condition, design, maintenance, refurbishment, and compliance. You'll be part of a collaborative and forward-thinking consultancy that supports your professional development and offers flexible working arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct building surveys, condition reports, and defect analysis
- Manage refurbishment, fit-out, and maintenance projects across a range of sectors
- Advise clients on design, planning, cost, risk, and sustainability considerations
- Prepare detailed specifications, schedules of work, and contract administration
- Support both pre- and post-contract phases of construction projects
- Assist with dilapidations, party wall matters, and reinstatement cost assessments
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout project lifecycles
- Degree qualified in Building Surveying or a related discipline
- MRICS qualified or working towards chartership
- Proven experience working within a consultancy or client-side environment
- Strong technical knowledge of building pathology, construction, and regulations
- Excellent communication, report writing, and client-facing skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
