The Commercial Industries and Access School at Kingston College is looking to appoint a Lecturer to teach courses across a range of levels and be a personal tutor on the Health & Social Care courses. This post will sit within the Health & Social Care curriculum area with teaching across a wide range of levels including Level 2 & 3 BTECs, T-Level and Level 4 and 5 HNC/D. You may also be expected to teach on Uniformed Services and Sport courses.
You’ll teach courses across a range of levels and be a personal tutor on the courses in this curriculum area. The courses are predominantly coursework based and therefore we seek an innovative practitioner to design engaging coursework assignments through a range of assessment methods that can inspire our learners. Following our agreed schemes of work, assessment schedules and student monitoring procedures are an essential component of this work to ensure that students meet and exceed their target grades. The post will also be involved in internal verification activities and organising and taking part in external verification.
As our Lecturer, we’d like you to hold a degree or relevant professional qualifications in a Health & Social Care subject, hold a teaching qualification (or willing to work towards) and have excellent teaching skills in Health & Social Care programmes. With relevant and appropriate industry experience in Health & Social Care, you’ll have an awareness of academic quality standards, participated in recent and relevant continuous professional development.
With energy, enthusiasm and passion for the subject and education, you’ll be able to use new technologies to enhance teaching and learning and be receptive to new ideas and initiatives with a creative approach to problem solving. You’ll have good planning, preparation, organisational and administrative skills with good attention to detail, able to work well under pressure to agreed deadlines.
The successful candidate will be eligible for any increase in salary as a consequence of the annual cost of living review that will be implemented in the new academic year. Closing date for the return of completed applications is 30th June 2025.
