Recruitment Consultant- Risk, Regulation and Compliance InterQuest are supporting an International bank who are looking for a Credit Underwriter to join their team. You\’ll be responsible for reviewing retail loan and savings applications in line with internal policies and regulatory guidelines. You\’ll assess creditworthiness using a range of data sources, including credit bureau reports, income verification documents, and affordability assessments. Your insights will directly contribute to maintaining a strong risk framework while enhancing the overall customer experience.Key Responsibilities:Assess loan and savings applications within the company\’s risk appetite and regulatory frameworkAnalyse supporting documents such as bank statements, ID, income verification, and credit reportsMake balanced, well-informed underwriting decisions using both internal systems and external tools (e.g., CIFAS, AML databases)Identify potential fraud and ensure compliance with all relevant financial crime and FCA regulationsCommunicate effectively with customers and retail partners throughout the onboarding processParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives, helping to refine underwriting processes and policiesWork cross-functionally with teams in Risk, Product, and Customer Service to deliver efficient outcomesProvide evening and weekend cover as part of a flexible workweekQualifications:Experience of Credit Underwriting within a retail lending environmentBackground in an FCA-regulated environmentStrong analytical skills and attention to detailExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal*This role is only available to candidates who can start immediatelySeniority level AssociateEmployment type Full-timeJob function Finance
