An experienced and detail-oriented Email Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HTML and CSS as well as experience with email marketing platforms such as Stensul, Email for Taxi, Pure360, Adobe Campaign or Salesforce. Passionate about email, be a stickler for detail and comfortable communicating with colleagues and stakeholders. This can be Edinburgh based or fully remote.

As the Email Developer, you will play a crucial part of the &NatWest team, focusing on the technical development and maintenance of their email platform. You will be responsible for amending modules, implementing bug fixes, and driving system improvements. You will also be involved in communicating with the Stensul platform and engaging with both internal and external development teams. Quality Assurance is a significant task within the role. You will be responsible for ensuring a high quality of QA on all campaign builds across the agency team working with the support of the Email Team Lead.

As part of the role you’ll be expected to confidently present and articulate requirements to the internal and client teams.

  • Building and maintaining responsive and accessible email components which follow email best practice.
  • Test emails and troubleshoot rendering issues across various browsers, email clients and devices.
  • Perform QA across Email CRM team.
  • Liaising closely with client's deployment team.
  • Working within CMS builders to implement changes and improvements.
  • Liaising with email CMS support team to ensure platform issues are raised and resolved.
  • Working with HTML/CSS as well as basic editing in Adobe Creative Suite packages.
  • Amending and developing responsive and accessible email modules.

What we require from you:

  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS and ability to create HTML emails from scratch.
  • Deep understanding of email design and user experience best-practice.
  • Deep understanding of email best practice from both a coding and design perspective.
  • Advanced, hands-on user experience of a range of email channel tools including Litmus, Email on Acid and ReturnPath.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop, XD, Figma and Dreamweaver).
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Adobe Campaign Classic and/or Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Proficiency with understanding data (Desirable).
