About our client
Our client is a fast-growing European private equity firm looking to add an ESG Manager to the team. The role is a London-based or remote position with the ESG Manager working across the broader organisation.
What the job involves
- Prepare for onboarding of new portfolio companies and direct engagement with and support to portfolio companies as they deliver a range of sustainability initiatives.
- Assess portfolio company performance against ESG requirements and develop action plans to ensure improvement areas are addressed over time.
- Coordinate due diligence of new investment opportunities with our ESG DD providers, including assessing the status quo, analysing risks and opportunities, and developing key milestones for the ownership period.
- Lead the process of collecting ESG data from portfolio companies on an annual basis using an installed data collection tool.
- Prepare analysis to support a range of reporting needs (case studies at portfolio companies, material for the 2 Investor Meetings per year, annual ESG report).
- Answer all ESG queries from the fund’s Investors and ensure all requirements for an Article 8 fund annual reporting have been met.
- Support the creation of PR, social media, marketing and communications material to maintain an external awareness of the firm and its portfolio companies’ ESG efforts.
Who we are looking for
- Prior experience of sustainability within industry or in a consultancy capacity, ideally having supported the implementation of ESG strategies, initiatives and/or due diligence.
- Prior experience within, or understanding of the financial services sector would be beneficial.
- Knowledge and understanding of common and topical ESG topics.
- A clear commercial focus, with an ability to be innovative and pragmatic.
- Organised and good at project management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
