The Role:
To meet the increasing demand for our first-class support, we are expanding our team of specialist support consultants. The Amano approach offers:

This role is available on a flexible hourly rate basis, supporting students in a university setting, with vacancies across the country.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide effective support to students in higher education.
- Work with individuals facing barriers due to mental health or autistic spectrum conditions.
- Identify strategies with students to address barriers and promote independent learning.
- Offer student-specific support activities such as time management, planning, anxiety coping, and workload prioritization.
- Monitor and enhance student autonomy and the effectiveness of strategies.
- Organize sessions with assigned students.
- Support can be offered on campus, at home, or remotely.
- Complete Amano administration promptly and accurately.
- Follow Amano policies on safeguarding, health and safety, lone working, and boundaries.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Experience working with students with disabilities or mental health/ASC difficulties.
- Ability to assess student needs and develop Individual Support Plans.
- Understanding of the demands of higher education studies.
- Ability to refer or signpost to other services when necessary.
- Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Proficiency in mobile IT.
- Proactive in maintaining CPD.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Degree-level education and current professional membership of one of the following organizations:
- PATOSS (full or associate membership)
- BDA (full professional membership)
- ADSHE (professional membership)
- Dyslexia Guild (member, associate, or fellow membership)
