We\’re working with a leading client who’s on the lookout for a Senior Event and Conference Technician to play a pivotal role in their London team. You’ll be the go-to expert on site, taking full ownership of technical support across event spaces, conference rooms, and meeting areas. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with cutting-edge AV and video conferencing technology—think live events, streaming services, room setups, and VC scheduling. Salary: Up to £42,000

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead the team of Event and Conference Centre Technicians including any flexible resource.
  2. Serve as the point of contact for any visiting contractors or subcontractors.
  3. Ensure team morale and culture is positive through encouragement and preserving professional integrity.
  4. Take ownership of integrated event spaces including operation of high-profile auditorium-based results presentations and town halls.
  5. Train new technicians and continue the training and development of the team.
  6. Be proficient in audio, video, and lighting equipment both digital and analogue.
  7. Set up and support video conference/audio conference with software and hardware platforms including Zoom, Cisco & Polycom systems.
  8. Manage all aspects of video calls from initial booking through to monitoring and completion, including scheduling and full systems operational testing prior to any high-profile event.
  9. Prepare equipment for future events and meetings as required.
  10. Work alongside the Breakfix team to locate faults and provide resolutions, i.e., fix/replace/upgrade hardware when relevant in support of the AV & VC facilities.
  11. Conduct 1st / 2nd line repairs & ongoing preventative maintenance including daily checks on all equipment in the building.
  12. Act as an ambassador; approach and professionalism are extremely important.
  13. Possess essential customer service skills and the ability to work calmly under pressure and resolve issues quickly and professionally.
  14. Maintain a presentable appearance and liaise with senior executives in a calm and professional manner at all times, both face-to-face and via telephone/Zoom.
  15. Work onsite shifts to meet requirements with a flexible approach ensuring out-of-hours events are also covered.
  16. Liaise with help desk & operations team to arrange backup support when required.
  17. Perform administration necessary to support the role utilizing Microsoft Office applications, Zoom back-end, bespoke ticketing systems, and room booking software.
  18. Attend other sites as required (this includes outside of London).
  19. Support the Livestreaming team as required.
  20. Provide Service Delivery across all sites against pre-agreed SLA.
  21. Proactively train and support end users as required.
  22. Prepare equipment for events and meetings as required.
  23. Be fully competent with all installed & portable technologies.
  24. Provide support on an individual basis to users at all levels of seniority.
  25. Assist with high-level audio/visual quality of presentations – optimization of content aspect ratios/resolutions and file formats to suit the space.
  26. Attend and remain on station for important events where required.
  27. Work any rotational shift basis as required.
  28. Perform administration necessary to support the role including email correspondence using professional language and decorum.
