We are seeking an accomplished Engineering Manager with extensive experience in projects and proposals, to work across major energy transition, infrastructure and upstream projects located in both domestic and international markets. Reporting into the Delivery Manager, this position supports the delivery of engineering requirements on assigned projects, holding responsibility for study execution, schedule, and resourcing of studies as well as interfacing with the Client for the delivery of Engineering within a larger project.
The new incumbent will interact and coordinate internally with Functional Managers across all engineering disciplines and non-engineering disciplines (such as project controls, planning, procurement, construction). There will also be extensive interaction with external clients, subcontractors, vendors, partners, authorities, and licensors.
Key Activities & Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering coordination and direction for Projects.
- Execute project delivery through all phases of the project against schedule and key milestones.
- Assess engineering discipline progress and performance against the schedule and manage changes that may impact the scope, budget, or schedule of a project.
- Plan and manage engineering resources, identifying and pursuing opportunities for margin improvement.
- Oversee projects, providing direction and leadership within the project environment to groups of engineering disciplines and SMEs.
- Direct the development of engineering project execution strategy; identifying technical interfaces, and technical risks/mitigations.
- Develop and manage the engineering input to the project schedule and drive engineering teams to comply with requirements, schedule milestones and key performance indicators.
- Ensure definition of engineering disciplines roles and responsibilities, providing information on project requirements, budgets, schedule and success factors.
- Generate key documents including those directing engineering strategy, implementation and ensuring technical excellence.
- Coordinate with other leaders within the project organisation ensuring that multi-discipline interfaces are properly addressed with resolution of technical issues.
We welcome applications from candidates who can offer the following expertise and experience:
- BSc / MSc qualification in engineering, or equivalent.
- Demonstrable diversity of project execution experience in a relevant industry sector.
- Industry experience in Feasibility/FEED/EPC environments.
- Solid background as a Project Engineer.
- Familiarity with tendering practices and exposure to tender evaluation and scoring criteria/processes.
- Commercial awareness.
- Competency in engineering work processes, inter-discipline relationships (enablers), schedule logics and in developing an overall TIC cost estimate and tender packages.
- Excellent communication skills and an understanding of contracts and project-related financial issues.
