Voyage Care is seeking a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner with a passion for enhancing the quality of life of the people we support. Our PBS Practitioners are at the heart of our delivery of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS).

We’re currently searching for a dynamic Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner to promote least restrictive practice, develop positive risk management and embed a trauma informed culture. The role will support the delivery of quality of life outcomes at two specialist supported living services in Lancashire: a service in Preston and another service in Lytham St Annes. These services have been developed to deliver a model that fully aligns with the principles of Capable Environments and our skilled teams support people with enhanced and complex needs to live fulfilled lives.

You will be working with the people we support and in collaboration with our managers, external professionals and families to promote meaningful and recovery focused outcomes. You will advocate Practice Leadership, guiding and coaching our teams in the area of PBS, establishing good team understanding of behavioural analysis and PBS strategies. This will promote a collaborative approach and ensure that the people we support gain more independence in their daily lives and maximise quality of life outcomes.

You will be responsible for developing functional behavioural analysis, developing and implementing Positive Behaviour Support Plans and attending multi-disciplinary meetings, promoting a culture of reflective practice. You’ll be a friendly, dynamic and empathetic professional with a passion for delivering the best support.

This is an amazing role for someone who is looking to really make a difference to the lives of others, whether that’s guiding and supporting our colleagues to grow in confidence or enabling the people we support so that they meet their goals and live a safe and fulfilled life.

We’re looking to welcome to our Lancashire team a PBS professional who has both the right experience and the right values, with relevant qualifications outlined below:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis or a related field (such as Level 5 BTEC Diploma in Positive Behaviour Support) or
  • Master’s degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis, or a related field (such as Positive Behaviour Support) or
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Psychology or Equivalent Qualification

The Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner for our Lancashire services must be a skilled practitioner and role model, demonstrating resilience, flexibility and composure in their approach. In addition, they will ideally have experience of working with people with forensic risk and will engage collaboratively with the operational management team to develop and embed a therapeutic model of support at the service, within a PBS framework.

Why choose us? We embrace people’s differences and encourage you to Be You, and so long as you’ve got the passion to make someone’s life better, we can give you all the skills and development opportunities you need to build a great career. We encourage our staff to grow together through our excellent training programme, starting at induction and following you through your career, with opportunity for promotion and progression as well as job security in a sector leading organisation.

Don’t hesitate to apply today and make a real difference to the lives of the people we’re supporting!

All applicants and subsequent job offers will be subject to satisfactory DBS checks and references.
