We are looking for a highly motivated Communications professional to join a fast-paced team in a dynamic Department at the University of Oxford. The position is a fixed-term 14 month contract. The Communications Assistant position is a pivotal role within the Department of Education in what is an expanding team.

We are looking for someone who has a background in communications ideally with experience including writing for a variety of channels, social media, digital communications, and internal communications. The post holder will be a key point of contact in the team for internal and external stakeholders and will deal with day-to-day enquiries.

They will be responsible for supporting the Strategic Communications Manager and two Communications Officers in delivering the Department’s communications strategy, including producing exciting and accurate content across numerous channels such as the website, publications, press releases, social media and digital outlets. The post holder will be responsible for maintaining mailing lists and/or contact databases, in-line with GDPR requirements.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or have equivalent professional experience. They will have a flexible approach, be highly organised with the ability to prioritise effectively between multiple competing demands, and possess a strong track-record of delivering to tight deadlines with a positive attitude. The successful candidate must also have excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, and be comfortable working with a range of relevant IT packages.
