As the Principal Frontend Engineer, you will be a key driver in delivering exceptional mobile user experiences on our social media platform. Your leadership and technical prowess will guide a team of skilled frontend developers in creating high-quality, performant, and visually stunning mobile applications. You will play a crucial role in shaping the direction of our mobile development initiatives, ensuring best practices, and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of React Native developers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Set clear goals and objectives for the mobile frontend team, and provide regular feedback and performance evaluations.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend developers to deliver engaging and feature-rich mobile applications.
  • Drive the architecture and technical decisions for our React Native mobile applications, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and robustness.
  • Develop and maintain coding standards, quality assurance processes, and development workflows to ensure consistent and high-quality codebase.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in mobile development, and incorporate these insights into the development process.
  • Lead the planning, execution, and timely delivery of mobile projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and deadlines.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges, providing guidance and solutions to the development team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritise feature development, bug fixes, and improvements based on user feedback and business needs.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying areas for enhancement in processes, tools, and team dynamics.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience (7+ years) in mobile application development, with a focus on React Native.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with a track record of leading and motivating development teams.
  • In-depth understanding of React Native framework, JavaScript, and mobile development best practices.
  • Experience with mobile app performance optimisation, debugging, and troubleshooting.
