The Commercial Industries and Access School at Kingston College is now seeking dynamic and inspiring Sessional Lecturers to teach either of the following:

  • Hairdressing & Barbering Specialism
  • Hairdressing: Coiled & Curly Hair Specialism

You will teach courses across a range of levels and be a personal tutor on the courses in this curriculum area. The courses are predominantly coursework based and therefore we seek innovative practitioners to design engaging coursework assignments that inspire learners. Following our agreed schemes of work, assessment schedules and student monitoring procedures are an essential component of this work and you will also be involved in internal verification activities and organise and take part in external verification.

We would like you to hold a Level 3 qualification in the hairdressing and/or barbering specialism, have excellent teaching and demonstration skills in hairdressing and/or barbering and have recent demonstrable hairdressing/barbering industrial experience. You will hold a teaching qualification (or be willing to work towards), have an awareness of academic quality standards and have the ability to support, motivate and empathise with young learners, including monitoring their progress.

You will be hardworking and flexible, have high personal standards and expectations.
