Salary: £18 - £21 p/h ltd

Contract Type: 26 Weeks minimum

About the Role: We are currently seeking an experienced Probation Service Officer (PSO) to join our team and support the effective delivery of probation services. This is a vital role in ensuring individuals on probation receive the appropriate assessments, supervision, and support to aid their rehabilitation and protect the public.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Initial Appointments with individuals on probation.
  • Complete and maintain UPW DAT (Digital Assessment Tool) and OASys ISP (Initial Sentence Plan) assessments accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Develop and implement sentence plans that reflect risk assessments and rehabilitation needs.
  • Monitor compliance with court orders and licence conditions.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to deliver a high standard of service.
  • Maintain detailed records and provide regular reports as required.

Essential Criteria:

  • Up-to-date experience and knowledge as a Probation Service Officer is essential.
  • Strong working knowledge of UPW DAT and OASys ISP systems.
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload and work effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.
  • Commitment to rehabilitation, public protection, and effective risk management.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with a diverse range of service users.
  • A qualification in criminology, social work, or related field.
