We are looking for an Environmental Specialist to join our team based in the Midlands (Stirling House), to lead and coordinate inspections, involved in the identification of asset needs and development of early solutions and maintenance requirements for the asset class in scope.
What you will be leading on:
- Ensure the health and safety needs and wellbeing of customers and employees are fully considered and accounted for throughout the planning and delivery of each service activity.
- Carrying out soft estate inspections (including tree safety inspection) and surveys, assessing both safety and conditions of the roadside verge in line with National Highways standards. This role will heavily involve being out on the Strategic Road Network, liaising with residents, and tasking necessary work to our Maintenance and Response Contractor.
- Management of invasive and injurious weeds.
- Maintaining electronic records of tree inspections/re-inspections, complaints from the public and other bodies, and drive-by inspections.
- Carrying out such other duties which are consistent with the nature and responsibilities of this role.
To be successful:
- LANTRA Professional Tree Inspection Certificate.
- NVQ Arb Certification Level 3 minimum or similar BTEC certificate/diploma.
- A Chartered or Incorporated membership of a relevant professional body.
- Strong knowledge of asset condition assessment and degradation modelling.
- Experience working adjacent to live Strategic Road Network is preferred.
