Overview: Our client, a specialist in the design, production, and supply of sustainable electronic and electrical products for the railway and other industries, is seeking an experienced Electronics Test Engineer. This position involves providing day-to-day test support, diagnosing faults to the component level, and supporting both repair and production operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Testing advanced electronic and electro-mechanical systems, including analogue and digital circuitry.
  • Identifying and diagnosing faults, recommending corrective actions as needed.
  • Managing test operations using the company's ERP system and manual tools, such as Excel spreadsheets.
  • Communicating findings with relevant internal departments.
  • Carrying out additional tasks as required within the scope of the role.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring compliance with the company's health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Maintaining a safe working environment for all staff and visitors.
  • Supporting environmental initiatives, such as waste management.

Candidate Requirements:

Qualifications: HNC in Electronics Engineering or an equivalent qualification.

Experience: Proven expertise in a similar electronics testing role.

Technical Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring schedules, and circuit diagrams.
  • Proficiency with electronic test equipment and adherence to detailed test specifications.
  • Strong fault-finding skills with a methodical and collaborative approach.
  • Awareness of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) best practices.

  • Organised and methodical, with the ability to work independently.
  • Proactive team player, open to learning and training others.
  • High attention to detail and pride in delivering quality workmanship.
  • Physically capable of manual handling tasks (up to 20kg).

Additional Information:

  • Competitive salary based on experience.
  • Standard working hours: Monday-Thursday (08:00-16:45) and Friday (08:00-12:30), 37.5 hours per week.
