Tool Fitting

  • Maintain all tool fitting equipment, ensure safety before use, and leave it safe for the next user.
  • Report all tool issues identified during fitting.
  • Carry out maintenance on machine chests, seals, spray frames, and other components.
  • Communicate concerns regarding tool and machine condition and safety, taking appropriate action within your competency.
  • Assist with fitting training when required.
  • Set up machines and understand the process thoroughly.
  • Complete the first drop sample of parts to ensure proper tool fit.
  • Understand and support the first off procedure.
  • Prepare and de-prep tools, supporting the process as needed.
  • Maintain machines per the ownership program, enhancing appearance and functionality.
  • Complete all tool fits and insert changes safely, maintaining high standards within timescales.
  • Respond to team leader requests such as break cover, technical duties, 5S, housekeeping, and repairs.

Tool Preparation

  • Perform scheduled tool maintenance.
  • Label and store all tools correctly.
  • Support NPI by inspecting new tools upon arrival and reporting issues.
  • Complete tool overhauls, including re-securing cavities, re-drilling, re-tapping, and adding core vents.
  • Maintain equipment such as gun refurbishments, receiver frames, spray frames, Enstats, bead pipes, airlines, and backloading frames.
  • Conduct monthly stock checks and report shortages.
  • Assist with training in tool preparation when needed.
  • Complete tool fits and insert changes safely and efficiently to support the team.
  • Set up machines and understand processes comprehensively.
