About the BTL Mortgage Underwriter Role:
As a Mortgage Underwriter, you will be responsible for evaluating mortgage applications and determining the eligibility of applicants for loan approval. You will play a critical role in assessing risk, ensuring compliance with regulations, and safeguarding the company’s lending standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mortgage underwriting and a solid understanding of various loan products.
BTL Mortgage Underwriter Key Responsibilities:

Review and assess mortgage applications, verifying financial information.

Make sound underwriting decisions based on lending criteria, guidelines, and risk assessments.

Approve or decline mortgage applications within designated underwriting authority

Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure efficient processing of applications.

Stay up to date with regulatory changes and industry best practices to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and guidelines.

Communicate underwriting decisions clearly and professionally

Monitor loan performance to ensure adherence to company policies and risk management standards.

18 months + of underwriting experience

Experience in Buy to Let underwriting is preferred

Strong decision-making skills with the ability to work within mandate limits

Ability to work in a hybrid environment, with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home

Salary £45k
