We\’re looking for an exceptional Technician/Trainer to join our vibrant Photography team. This isn\’t just a job; it\’s an incredible opportunity to be at the forefront of visual arts education, empowering aspiring artists to reach their full potential.

What You\’ll Be Doing:

  • Empower and Inspire: You\’ll be the guiding hand alongside our lecturers, delivering practical and vocational learning experiences that will truly shape our students\’ artistic journeys.
  • Technical Trainer: Share your expertise by training students on industry-standard software like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) . You\’ll also be instrumental in guiding students through the use of SLR (Analogue), DSLR , and Mirrorless cameras , as well as darkroom techniques and photography studio setups. Plus, if you\’re skilled in 3D printing and laser cutting , you\’ll be an absolute game-changer!
  • Cultivate Creativity: Supervise students in our bustling studios and darkroom, fostering a safe, organised, and inspiring space where ideas can flourish.
  • Skill Builder: Deliver crucial foundational knowledge, equip students with essential skills, and assess their progress, helping them master their craft.
  • Innovate and Collaborate: Work hand-in-hand with our passionate faculty to design, develop, and manage cutting-edge visual arts programmes that push boundaries.
  • Safety Champion: Uphold the highest health and safety standards, ensuring a secure and productive learning environment for everyone. This includes the safe storage, use, and disposal of darkroom chemicals.
  • Behind-the-Scenes Hero: Keep our studios running smoothly by managing stock levels, maintaining equipment, and handling minor upkeep tasks.

Who We\’re Looking For:

  • A True Visual Arts Enthusiast: Your passion for visual arts should be infectious, backed by a strong background in the field, particularly in photography, darkroom practices, and studio setup.
  • The Gift of Teaching: You have a natural ability to break down complex technical concepts and guide students with clarity and encouragement.
  • Technically Proficient: You\’re a pro with Adobe Creative Suite, have hands-on experience with SLR (Analogue), DSLR, and Mirrorless cameras, and are knowledgeable in darkroom processes and photography studio equipment. Ideally, you\’re also adept with 3D printing and laser cutting technologies.
  • Safety Conscious: A genuine commitment to upholding health and safety regulations is paramount, including experience with the safe handling of darkroom chemicals.
  • A Collaborative Spirit: You\’re a fantastic team player, ready to work seamlessly with faculty and colleagues to achieve shared goals.
  • Organised and Meticulous: Your excellent organisational skills and keen eye for detail ensure everything runs like a well-oiled machine.
