Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of the Logistics Specialist II (Driver), with or without a Crane Operator certification, is to deliver building materials to customers or job sites. Drivers operate within a maximum of 200 miles from their home branch, with all deliveries originating and ending at the branch, ensuring no overnight stays.

  • Safely operate a commercial vehicle in compliance with all DOT regulations
  • Lead job site safety by operating equipment in accordance with local, state, and federal laws
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Verify and confirm loaded inventory against purchase orders, sign delivery tickets, and confirm delivery addresses and routing information prior to departure
  • Conduct a job site inspection, document existing damages, and note the location of utilities and features such as power lines, sprinklers, septic tanks, mailboxes, and fences
  • Capture photos of all delivered building products following company policy

Requirements

  • Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver\’s License (CDL)
  • Ability to load and unload building products weighing up to 100 lbs. each, using a straight bed truck; forklift or Moffett experience is a plus
  • Safe driving record with no hit & runs, DWI, or DUI convictions within the last three years; recent accidents or violations will be reviewed
  • Prior commercial driving experience and knowledge of DOT & OSHA safety regulations are advantageous
  • Experience in distribution is a plus
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate effectively in English
  • Minimum age of 18; 21 if crossing state lines or transporting hazardous materials
  • Pass a drug test and possess a current DOT medical certificate; no positive drug tests in the past 12 months
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. and pass an E-Verify check
