We are looking for a motivated, dependable, and flexible Water Hygiene Technician to join our team. As a member of the Water Hygiene team, it is key that you are able to work efficiently as part of a team, as well as having the capabilities to work independently. Due to the nature of the job, travelling will be part of your day to day role. Previous knowledge with processes such as dead leg removal, pipework modifications, and TMV installations would be of an advantage.

This role involves extensive travel across the UK, and the successful candidate must be flexible regarding working hours and overnight stays. The company will cover all accommodation and meal expenses. An enhanced DBS check and Ministry of Defence (MoD) security clearance—both of which will be arranged by us—are also required.

The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to):

  • Involved in undertaking Legionella based plumbing work, maintenance and remedial activities across the UK.
  • You will be required to undertake SFG20 tasks including:
  • Plumbing remedial work
  • Clean and chlorination of tanks
  • Chlorination of water systems
  • TMV servicing including full servicing and fail-safe testing
  • Calorifier inspections

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Ideally the successful candidate will hold a recognised NVQ/C&G plumbing qualification and have knowledge of Legionella Control (L8) and HSG274.
  • Communicating verbally and in writing with the client when faults have been identified.
  • Producing detailed site observations based on current guidelines, legislation and best practice.
  • Working in a safe manner avoiding hazards to themselves, colleagues and clients.
  • Carrying out any other duty or work reasonably requested by the employer.
  • Working in safety critical client sites.
  • Completing service report sheets via a phone application.
  • Completing water monitoring log books and visit report sheets.

About Water Hygiene: Our Water Hygiene team is split into two main areas: Water Hygiene and Legionella Risk assessment. Our Water Hygiene Engineers’ main focus is ensuring water systems are working in line with regulations. We assess everything from conducting tank cleans and disinfections, water temperature monitoring, shower descaling, water sampling, and TMV (thermostatic mixing valve) servicing. Our Legionella team work hard to ensure the safety of water content. We undertake risk assessments, written scheme audits, and internal quality checks, all to make sure our clients are not using a harmful water supply.
