We are actively looking to engage analytical air, sea and road freight professionals with a passion for freight forwarding and carrier management for a new role as a Freight & Logistics Carrier Analyst in Tamworth! The role is based in Tamworth, Staffordshire on a hybrid basis (3 days per week).
My client is a market-leader in the global shipping of high-quality manufactured goods, relying heavily on precision, speed and reliability, across the air, ocean and road freight sector. My client operates both 3PL and 4PL worldwide services, across largely integrated supply chain solutions, for the manufacturing, oil & gas and aerospace sectors. My client employs over 10,000 colleagues worldwide and has a reach of over 120 sites across the globe.
As a Freight & Logistics Carrier Analyst you will join our dynamic team, reporting in to the UK Carrier & Logistics Director on a daily basis. You will be responsible for the following areas for responsibility across the Tamworth office in Staffordshire:
- The role will be central to ensuring our carrier network meets the demanding service standards of our premium client base, whilst driving performance, cost-efficiency and continuous improvement across our freight, transport & logistics operations.
- Monitor, analyse and report on the KPI performance of both international and domestic freight & transport carriers, focused on air, ocean, road and time-critical shipments of manufactured goods.
- Ensuring supply chain integration surrounding route planning support, carrier selection, and capacity management in alignment with customer SLAs and performance agreements.
- Engage with our customer base through weekly and monthly meetings to continuously improve service through in-depth analysis within Power BI, Excel and PowerPoint presentations.
- Develop and maintain carrier performance dashboards, key indicators and weekly/daily scorecards.
- Strategic and operational analysis of carrier tendering and network optimisation.
- Conduct freight audits to verify invoicing and customs compliance accuracy, whilst resolving any anomalies and compliance breaches.
- Customer rate analysis on route guidance, whilst monitoring and securing allocations and operation efficiency.
- Develop and build relationships to ensure a high level of customer service is provided to clients with a knowledge of the clients' business requirements.
The successful candidate will have an expansive background in freight forwarding across both import and export. The ideal Freight & Logistics Carrier Analyst will have the following skills and experience:
- 3+ years' experience in a similar freight & carrier analytical role, within the transport, logistics & freight forwarding industry.
- Ideally hands-on, practical experience in either air, sea or road freight forwarding.
- Experience of pricing, quotation and planning customer deliveries across air & road freight.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills; able to liaise confidently with carriers, customers, and internal teams.
- Excellent analytical skills and customer engagement experience is required.
- Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and/or other data visualisation and reporting tools.
- Commutable to Tamworth, Staffordshire on a hybrid basis (3 days per week).
