A fantastic school in Birmingham is currently looking for a full-time superstar SEN teaching assistant. The school aims to provide a secure environment where all the children's individual needs are recognized and catered for.
The school places a special emphasis on core subjects and offers a wide range of learning opportunities; therefore, experience working with a range of subjects is ideal. PECS and Makaton training or experience would be suitable for the role but not necessary. This is a full-time post and will run until the end of the academic year.
The school requires someone committed to the role as they need consistency for the children. In return, the school will offer all the support and additional training you may need.
A new enhanced DBS will be needed for this role or a subscription to the DBS update service.
Requirements:- Qualified Teaching Assistant OR Relevant SEN Background
- Complex ASC experience
- Challenging Behaviour experience
- Non-verbal students experience
- PECS users alongside communication books
- Level 1 safeguarding certificate
- Recent school-based references
- Valid Photo ID – Driving Licence or passport
- Full DBS – on the update service
