Hanham Health is looking for a GP to join our practice working 5 sessions across our surgeries in Bristol. With demands on General Practice being greater than ever, Hanham Health has implemented a system which puts staff welfare at the centre of BMA Safe Working in General Practice guidance. We are keen to hear from General Practitioners who are looking for rewarding roles in General Practice. Main duties of the job In accordance with the practice rota, to undertake a variety of duties to include: Surgery consultations and queries including face to face, telephone, video and online consulting. Visiting patients at home. Duty doctor and emergency on-call cover during opening hours. Checking and signing of prescriptions and dealing with associated queries. Dealing with workflow in a timely manner. About us We are a 9 partner, 32,500 patient practice operating across 4 sites in Hanham, Oldland, Pilning and Almondsbury, on the north and eastern edges of Bristol, with opportunities to work at any of these sites. Offer mentorship, protected learning time and have an excellent existing clinical team of nurse practitioners, paramedics, pharmacists, physios and a mental health worker. Are an integral part of two well-functioning PCNs, along with local practices. Value teamwork, flexibility and can offer the opportunity to work in other areas e.g. research, military medicine, secure health and minor surgery. Provide the vasectomy service to BNSSG. Recognise the value of a portfolio career and are able to accommodate a wide range of working patterns. Actively encourage staff development and progression with opportunities to develop leadership roles. Can offer flexible and remote working where appropriate. Have an excellent admin team and are working to improve processes further to reduce clinical workload (including the outsourcing of medical reports for insurance companies, employers and statutory bodies). Use EMIS Web and accuRx. Offer an in-house Education programme, weekly peer support meeting. For more information, and informal discussion or to apply please email: nicola.hudson12@nhs.net Job responsibilities Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems including history taking, examination, investigation, diagnosis, treatment and referral. Work with clinical and operational colleagues in delivering a safe, high performing, effective, sustainable, innovative person-centred medical service. Undertake routine surgery consultations, home visits where necessary, online and telephone queries from patients and health care professionals. Undertake on-call duties as part of the on-call rota, where agreed. This may include requesting that patients present at the surgery, telephone and online consultations, home visits and triage. Contribute to the development of and adhere to protocols and care plans for the management of chronic disease and common medical conditions. Contribute towards meeting the indicators outlined in the QOF and other locally and nationally agreed guidance. Provide appropriate preventative healthcare, counselling, education and advice. Adhere to the practice’s prescribing formulary. Provide free certification in line with Schedule 9 of NHS GMS Regulations (1992). Attend practice and clinical meetings and forums. Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice. Record clear and accurate consultation notes to agreed standards and maintain patients’ clinical records. Participate in clinical governance activity and contribute to the improvement of health outcomes through the practice’s audit programme. Perform clinically related administrative and non-clinical duties necessary for the delivery of Personal Medical Services. Engage in appropriate educational activity in order to maintain clinical competence and performance, including participation in the annual GP appraisal scheme. Support the wider practice team and respond to requests for advice and assistance. Person Specification Experience Using electronic medical records. Working autonomously and as part of a team. QOF and clinical audit. Understanding of clinical risk management and clinical governance. Use of EMIS. Interest in Mental Health. Interest in Care of Elderly. Coil and implant fitting/family planning. Qualifications Full registration with GMC. Inclusion on the GP Performers List. Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Practice / Certificate Confirming Eligibility for General Practice Registration (CEGPR), or equivalent. MRCGP. Specialist interest / development / training.
